Samuel Schär, currently head of Global Services & Sales, is the Board’s choice to become chief executive officer from January 2026. A physicist by training, Schär joined Bühler two decades ago to build its Nanotechnology unit, later overseeing Grinding & Dispersing and then the Advanced Materials segment.
At the 2026 annual general meeting the Board will propose Stefan Scheiber, Bühler’s CEO since 2016, as its next chair. Scheiber has spent 35 years with the company in Switzerland and abroad, including two decades in group management.
Scheiber would succeed Calvin Grieder, who will step down at the AGM after a 25‑year tenure that has included posts as CEO and chair. The succession plan supports the strategy of the Bühler owner family, now in its fifth generation, to keep the technology group family‑owned and independent.
