United States: PepsiCo confirms acquisition of Poppi brand

PepsiCo has announced the acquisition of American prebiotic soft drink brand Poppi in a deal valued at €1.8 billion. The agreement also includes a potential additional payment tied to future performance targets, though specific details were not disclosed.

“More than ever, consumers are looking for convenient, great-tasting options that fit their lifestyles and respond to their growing interest in health and wellness. Poppi perfectly complements our portfolio transformation strategy to meet these needs,” said Ramón Laguarta, President and CEO of PepsiCo.

Poppi, known for its low-calorie, low-sugar drinks, offers fifteen flavors and is stocked in major U.S. retailers including Kroger, Walmart, Costco, Target, and Whole Foods Market. In 2024, the brand reported over €460 million in annual sales.

This marks PepsiCo’s second billion-euro acquisition in the past six months. In October 2024, its snack division Lay’s announced the €1.1 billion acquisition of Mexican-American snack company Siete Foods.
