Chile: Wine exports rise by 11% in January

According to the Ministry of Agriculture’s latest monthly bulletin, Chile exported 72 million liters of wine in January 2025, generating €132 million. This marks an 11% increase in volume and a 4% rise in value compared to the same month in 2024.

The top destinations for Chilean wine exports were the United Kingdom, China, the United States, and Brazil. Wines with designation of origin were mainly shipped to Brazil and the United Kingdom, while bulk wine exports were concentrated in the United Kingdom, China, and the United States.

Of the total exports, 35.6 million liters were wines with a designation of origin, valued at €100 million, reflecting a 12% increase in volume and a 7% rise in value compared to January 2024. The average price for these wines stood at €2.84 per liter, a 4% decline from the previous year.

Bulk wine exports reached 31 million liters, generating €21 million, with volume up 15% but value down 2% year-over-year.

Sparkling wine exports saw the highest growth, surging 34% in both volume and value, reaching 320,000 liters in January 2025.
