Chile: Wine exports do not reach those of 2022

According to data from the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OeMv), although there was a slight increase in Chilean wine exports in the first half of 2024, the decline in the Chinese market and the decrease in prices, slowed the recovery of this important sector. The fall of the Chinese market and the decrease in the average price slowed the recovery of this important sector.

Chilean wine exports have shown a slight recovery in the first half of 2024. However, this rebound is still far from the figures achieved in previous years. The report highlights an increase of 2.1% in terms of value and 14% in volume compared to the previous year, but the drop in the unit value of exports, which has decreased by more than 10%, raised concerns about the sustainability of this recovery. The average price has fallen to 1.8 euros per liter, but Chilean exports are still not reaching the sales figures of 2022, going from 1.8 billion dollars in annual exports to approximately 1.3 billion at the end of 2023.
