United States: Constellation Brands to sell part of its wine and spirits portfolio

Constellation Brands has signed an agreement with The Wine Group to divest several of its traditional wine brands, along with related vineyards and facilities.

The company will retain a focused portfolio of well‑known labels, including Robert Mondavi Winery, Schrader, Double Diamond, To Kalon Vineyard Company, Mount Veeder Winery, The Prisoner Wine Company, the My Favorite Neighbor range from Paso Robles, Kim Crawford of New Zealand—maker of the top‑selling Sauvignon Blanc in the United States—and Italy’s Ruffino Estates and Ruffino Prosecco.

Ahead of the deal’s expected closing, Constellation is reviewing its organisational structure to match a more streamlined wine and spirits business. The review aims to deliver net cost savings of more than €180 million by fiscal 2028, with most changes set for completion in fiscal 2026.
