The Premium Plus segment is expected to drive the majority of future value growth, with the category projected to expand globally at a compound annual growth rate of 6 percent between 2024 and 2028. In 2023, agave spirits outside the US and Mexico saw a 14 percent increase in volume and a 25 percent rise in value. Notably, sales volumes in India nearly doubled within the same year. Marten Lodewijks, president of IWSR's US division, noted that while the tequila category is beginning to slow after years of double-digit growth, the Premium Plus segment continues to show strong performance.
