United States: FTC Sues Pepsi Over Exclusive Discounts for Walmart

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against PepsiCo, accusing the company of engaging in illegal practices by granting commercial advantages to Walmart. This case has reignited the debate over market regulations aimed at protecting small businesses.

According to the FTC, PepsiCo allegedly provided exclusive promotional payments to Walmart, enabling the retailer to lower prices while other supermarket chains and independent stores did not receive the same benefits. As a result, the FTC argues that consumers are forced to pay higher prices for PepsiCo products at retailers other than Walmart.
