South America: Chilean CCU announces strategic alliance with Grupo Vierci in Paraguay

Chilean Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas (CCU) has announced a strategic alliance in Paraguay with Grupo Vierci, which holds the license for the distribution of PepsiCo beverages in the country. This alliance will enable CCU to incorporate both product lines into its portfolio, significantly expanding its presence in the Paraguayan market.

As part of this transaction, CCU will acquire 51 percent of the shares in Bebidas del Paraguay S.A., Distribuidora del Paraguay S.A., and AV S.A. Grupo Vierci will retain the remaining 49 percent of these companies, consolidating a collaborative model that benefits both parties.

With this agreement, Paraguay becomes the second country, alongside Chile, where CCU holds the PepsiCo license, thereby strengthening its expansion strategy across the continent.
