Brazil: The largest national producer of barley, it stands out in beer production

According to data from the Beer Yearbook 2024, the Brazilian state of Curitiba ranks fourth in the beer density ranking, with one brewery for every 66,900 inhabitants.

The beer sector has attracted significant investment in recent years, and the outlook remains positive. According to state government data, since 2020, companies in the beer industry have invested around 900 million euros in the state. In addition to investments in the beer industry, Paraná is also the country's largest producer of barley and malt. The largest malt plant in Latin America was recently opened in Ponta Grossa, the result of a partnership between six cooperatives.
