According to a 2023 study by Euromonitor International, Brazil reached a significant milestone in beer production, surpassing 15.4 billion liters. The study notes that this growth began in 2013, fueled by technological advancements that enabled the introduction of new flavors and styles. Investments in factory modernization and increased production capacity have also played a role. Additionally, incentives for small producers have led to a rise in the number of artisanal breweries across the country.
In Rio de Janeiro, production is primarily concentrated in the Metropolitan Region, which hosts 35 percent of companies in the sector, followed closely by the Serrana Region and Médio Paraíba, with 24 percent and 14 percent, respectively.
